EAST MEETS EAST

.........and like any great travellers the first we did was get some fast food and go to bed for a sleep!! We`re only travelling for 10 days but we decided to set this site up for 2 reasons: 1, Its cheaper to post entries than ring home 2, We`re likely to remember very little when we get home as we finish in Krakow and our little brains will be blanked out sampling the local vodka so we can use this site a a mind filler-in!! The travelling party is split down the middle into 2 groups at the moment on one side we have the "posh-packers" (Shaun and John) with their Gucci sandles and Designer bags and me and steve with 1 pair of pants between us. Our hostel in Germany is nice although they don`t provide towels - unfortuantely me the experienced traveller told evryone they would!! So there will be a lot of standing close together in the morning after showers to dry au naturale. We`re off on a pub crawl round Munich tonight so this is likely t be the last post as i`m sure i won`t remember setting this up in the morning........ .....so if i don`t im sure the rest of our trip was very amazing. J

Right. After last night we guessed we need to get out of Munich so we`re off to Prague tomorrow evening. Booked the train and the lady who sold us it asked did we want a bunk as its overnight. Stevie B thought she wanted a BUNK UP so promptly as for her number and sexual oriententation. I think the strong lager is getting to him!! Off out on the town again now for another pub crawl so tune in tomorrow and we`ll let you know the goss! Off to say auw wiedessian to the Father Land in style EAST belfast

Man we had a BIG DRINK last night!!. Went on a organised pub crawl. Did a few bars most notably a fake irish one where we had a few guinesses - surprisinlg alright. Its all Americans out here so we are the only Brits giving it large. The room smelt a bit this morning but i`m pleased to report the bunk beds come up to EU standards. Today we wnt on crap bus tour where some old english geezer kept going on about how the Germans were bastards in the 2nd world war but they know how to sweep up litter - Random. Anyway now last nights beer has been sweated out we`re going back on it again!! Check out the photo`s EAST

Yesterday was a loooong day! Eventually the 3 amigo`s got out of bed and believe me it wasn`t a pretty sight! After much debating it was decided that the only thing left to do was get back on it and head for bar crawl number 2! The guy leading us about was this loud Aussie and it was pretty clear his intention was to get us ruined! A bit of history about German beer and we were set! This guy filled us with wheat beer & Jaegermeister - for those of you that don`t know what Jaegermeister is think black Sambuca on speed!!!! It was pissing it down but we soldiered through in true poshpacking style! We had a beer in the BIGGEST beer garden in the world - it seats 9,000 - more like a beer field!!! By this time "Callum" was in full throttle and the ladies were flocking from every corner of the garden for their chance to get their 5 minutes of fame with the living legend! Ended up the same way it always does plenty more beer, Johnny getting in with the Yankees, Shauny G & Jimbo sampling fine Turkish cuisine, more beer, Stevie (sorry Callum) cooked in the top bunk! I think its safe to say that we made our mark in Munich (not sure if they`d have us back!) Watch out Prague the lads are on their way!!! Get the beer cold and let the Yankees know John`s on route! Had a night out in prague tonight. There are no pic`s as we only met drunk english people on the tear - might as well have been in Romford or Watford! SHAMEFULL Left the city centre early cos we couldnt handle the crap spandale ballet songs they were singing. Went to a Czech Darts bar where it was 1 pound 10 for a round for 4 people!! Plus Jimbo got beat in a nailbiting game of electronic darts by a bird 2-1!! IT WAS A CORKER!! WHHEN WHO THE CROWD WENT METAL AND STARTED SINGING "UP THE CZECH`S" Not a good night. then ended up in an underground bar listening to a trance band- RANDOM - BUT OK. BIG DAY TOMORROW EAST

After an eventfull night train from Munich we arrived in Prague at 9 oclock this morning. It is well hot out here at the moment and the little carriage we had last was absolutly boiling. 2 Japanesse girls had the other 2 bunks in our 6 bed dorms and they got on about an hour into the journey. The smells and noises coming from the bunks below them must have been awful. Dont worry we didnt let down the good image of Engish abroad as we prentented we were Americans!! So far Prague is very Hot. The Hostel is basic and the they love a big serving of meat. Also worth mentioing that beer is about 15 to 30p!!!! Tonight we out on the town. No ones fallen out yet but their were some grumpy people this morning getting ff the train after sweating out pints of fliud through the night (not me) Anyway we`l upload some cool pics of stevie B on the pull on our last nght in Munich when we can find a usp port. j

Background - Stevie B always makes one purchase before leaving for holiday - usually a shirt (a pulling one!) - He got the name in Barcelona Nov `05 for his antics! As you`ll see from the attached pictures - day 2 - the shirt comes out and with it Stevie B becomes Callum B Random women all over him, or CB all over them (his wandering hands will get him in trouble!) Anyway, the yanks have taken a shine to him, the aussies treat him as one of their own, the germans are scared of him and the Croats think it`s standard practice for a guy to put his arm round you and touch your breast while pretending not to realise. BOSH! After a very strange first night in Prague we were determined to make the most of night number 2! We decided the only way to see the real posh packer sites was to get on yet another bar crawl! We hit the drinking sites of Prague that we clearly missed last night, starting off in an American bar! After the first few beers going down a bit funny we realised that shots were definatley neeeded to get us through - a game of coins was the only way to go! With a shot of Sambuca going to the loser - 4 games later and the score was: Jimbo - 0 Stevie - 0 Shauny G - 2 Johnny - 2 Shaun + John boy were suddenly well up for it - BANG! Next bar was a bit "Brits on the piss" but we made the most of it with plenty more beer and a good few Sambucas! The quote of the tour so far came from a clearly drunk Johnny OD after spotting yet another Yankee hottie: Johnny 22:45 "In room 32 Ill either be puking or riding - or maybe both!" Went on to a big club where Shauny G was out of it and the 3 amigos were after anything in a skirt! Was messy to say the least! Ill let the pictures tell the rest of the story! I think the Sambuca got the best of us tonight but it wont stop us tommorrow on yet antoher pub crawl! Right Im cooked - time for bed at 4am! Shauny G!

We`ve walked around all day looking for an internet cafe with little luck. Finally found ine to upload pics and steve broke the PC!! We`ve got a couple of new pics on and a video - take a look. Off out on a bar crawl tonight if we can find our way home from this internet cafe is downtown Prague!!

After last nights bar crawl Shaun and John had a big blow - in fact we don`t think SG saw daylight. They both managed to perk up when the rumour of interesting and chilled bar crawl arose - due to unforessen circumstances (Stevie B having a wash) we arrived late and the crawl had commenced without us. So, down through the main strip trying to ignore the raucous scumbags on stag dos - rememebr we`re posh packing! - and on to the old town where the scum don`t seem to venture. On passed copious amounts of stunning women - John might suggest a branch of Investec out there which he`d man for free! - and down the small bar/restaurant lined lanes when Shaunie G spots the smallest alley (1st time we`ve heard the phrase: Stevie B touched the sides. And last I`m sure) in the world with a restaurant at the bottom ovderlooking the river and Bang! we`re in and the night has started. A wicked meal later and everyone is beginning to relax into the evening watching the sunset, very romantic, being just us four boys I probably shouldn`t mention that but hey, when on tour... The beers finally start to flow nicely and we head out to the hostel near us where the random goth band played, no goths this time but the bar was busy and the company good. We were all enjoying our night taking no notice of the middle aged (30 ish) ginger guy with a mixed group at the table beside us until Stevie B`s attention was taken, some Czech girl start shoving her tits into his face (she was part of the mixed group and the guys with them seemed oblivous to it), we didn`t take too much notice as he`d probably plied her with drink all night and it was a hostel after all so these things happen but then he was off stroking her mates arm at the bar, now we`re thinking good man! or that he`s paying (again - Good man!). Half hour or so later the 1st girl gets up and without a word walks out of the bar with another of the men from the table (looked like husband and wife). Wierd bar - first goths then swingers (we end up recommending to the this to the shy Turkish guy staying in our next hostel) Other than that, we rate the new arrivals and comment on how they don`t have a touch on the czech girls, have a chat with the helpful waitress who we`d taken no notice of when she slagged the bar crawl (she was right!) and slagged the posh yanks at the end of the bar (fraternity boys on tour) and finally, met a girl from Reading who`d had too much beer but was very friendly and was pleased to meet friendly British faces. Night over we say our goodbyes, Jimbo charms the helpful waitress, we avoid eye contact with the ginger guy and off over to our hostel hoping Irene is not waiting up for us (another strange person - we have become accustomed to meeting these people on tour). Stevie is snoring before he`s even stopped talking, we`re feeling grouchy at the prospect of another twelve hour train juorney and we`re not in the mood for that, numerous jabs later and he`s still at it - Shaunie G is not a happy man!

peeps, after 2 changes and an 8 hour ride from munich (with 2 changes) we finally made it to Krakow. So far the city looks wicked as we arrived here at 7, had some dupplings and then wemt for a few beers. Again the women here are amazing!!! But on a monday night the night life is dead. so we went to a couple of bars which were quient.....\...then we went to a polish bar with no-one in there so we had a drinking game first with the four of us and said to the bar-man to give us his recommened shoot (55% wierd stuff). He really wanted John to lose as he REALLY liked him. Anyway Shaun lost the first game and the barman was shocked he didnt fall over. Steve lost the second and I just put him to bed!! Sorry there,s been no photo`s but tomorrow Shaun and John have promised to do it!! east

Munich & Prague down only Krakow to go! It was a loooong train ride in from Prague - 8 hours in total! I was cooked already cos Stevie B was snoring like a beast the night before and I got no sleep! By the time we made it in to Krakow beer was needed big time! We headed out into town to see if we could find a beer and Jimbo a bride (the latter was slightly trickier!) Ended up touring most of Krakows Irish pubs - Stevie B was in his element talking all sorts of nonsense to the locals! One guy came over to ask him if he knew the football score and Stevie B ended up telling him how to get your phone to work using chicken wire, needless to say the conversation ended pretty sharply! The beer out here is STRONG - this Zywiec stuff is loony juice! After 2 pints Johnny Boy had a wobble on! We moved on to a local pub and were greeted by a seriously wierd looking bar man! A couple more Zywiec`s and we decided to get a game of coins in the barman loaded up a rotten looking shot and as usual Shauny G lost! The barman wasn`t happy though - he really wanted John to have the shot! So far Jimbo & Steve have managed to duck out of the shots so we played again and it ended up Jimbo v Stevie heads up! Stevie B lost and I swear it looked like his head was gonna expload when he did the shot! It got too wierd in the end once the barman started putting porn on the TV we were out of there quick time! Back at the hostel Stevie B was sleeping on the floor and trying to get into every other bunk bed than his (the Koreans didn`t look happy in the morning!) I get the feeling we won`t be chilling out in the last few days of this tour - tonight BOOZE CRUISE! BANG! Shauny G!

Its all coming to an end i`m afraid to say. Krakow has been cool. It is a really great city and very beautiful. Last night after me & steve went on a 6 hour bike tour the 4 of us went out for a quiet night and ended up in the usual state with a guy from our hostel. Up early this moprning as we went to Austwich. That place is awesome. Very, very moving. Pic`s to follow - hopefully tomorrow. keep it real James

After 10days, 3 countries, many Martin Lings and much liver abuse our time on tour is coming to an end. Stevie B has left...not cos we`ve fallen out but because his flight left a 2pm. The rest of our are flying out at 10pm tonight so spending the last day walking around and taking in a few final sights! Its been emotional. The boys

After getting lost on the way home and ending up in a backwards village called "Lurgan" in a far off part of the empire Stevie B aka Callum is back on his travels.

He sets sail on Saturday morning for Sunny London to experience the finest football in the land and also to continue his important work into Cup Size testing which he worked so diligently at whilst in Germany, Poland and Prague.

EAST

After the sucess of last years EAST meets EASTS....we`re doing it again.

It all starts with Stevie B travelling to London on June 1st for a couple of beers in O`Grady`s famous Irish Bar Seven kings then we head out to our adopted home "Eastern Europe".
